Congratulations on your upcoming wedding !

Thank you for considering us for your special day. Greyfriars House is Surrey's newest venue for weddings and civil partnerships and offers you the opportunity to have a unique celebration exactly to your own requirements.

We offer a modern wedding in a historic setting.

Greyfriars House is an important historic building - and it has been recently restored with the greatest care in preserving and restoring its original features. We know that some historic buildings can be a little "stuffy" - but when Greyfriars was built it was very much a "modern" house. It still retains that contemporary feeling today. As a professional couple with a young family, the owners have furnished the house with modern furnishings, whilst also acquiring and mixing in some original Voysey pieces.

"Alternatively, to hire the house and grounds for a full day including the use of the drawing room, bar and the grounds for a marquee until midnight, the venue hire charge is £4,000.00 (VAT is not applicable)."

Other options are available - and we would really like to listen what you are looking for and work for you to help to achieve your perfect day.

The Drawing Room - this has a vaulted ceiling, a large stone mullioned bay window, and twin stone fireplaces at either end. The room is licensed for civil marriages and partnerships and will seat 80 people for the ceremony and wedding breakfast, or can accommodate 120 for a canape reception. (Access onto the Main Lawn.)

The Bar - is a wood panelled room with a large carved wooden fireplace and full bar. (Access onto the Terraced Garden.)

The Main Lawn - with panoramic views over the North Downs and Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The main lawn offers a wonderful setting for a glass on champagne (or two !), and also a potential setting for a marquee.
The Terraced Garden - Sir Herbert Baker's ornamental garden is a registered "historic garden". The garden has yew topiary, a fountain with koi carp, and glimpses of "the view". The garden has recently completed the first phase of its restoration and is a potential setting for a full marquee, or for a "dance tent" for your evening entertainment.

We also offer a complimentary shuttle service by prior arrangement for your guests to and from Guildford mainline railway station which has regular connections to central London (35 minutes).

Our catering and marquee suppliers are long established specialist companies with excellent reputations. To ensure that we properly comply with our planning consents, we can only work with our chosen suppliers - and will work with them to provide a custom quotation for you. Our clients are welcome to provide their own wine (without corkage charges) or this can be arranged for you on a sale or return basis.

We do hope that you will contact us to discuss your specific requirements and to learn more about what we have to offer.
